About Us
The Stanley Macadam Company was founded in 1972 by James & Raymond Stanley, who were later joined in the venture by their brother, George. The Group’s initial activity consisted of the Tarmacadam Division and the small family firm grew to become the leading independent tarmacadam contractor in Ireland. In 1983 the decision was taken to expand into the closely related area of site development, with a view to offering a more complete service to customers. In 1986, the company added Construction to its repertoire, resulting in a firm that can provide total service: taking the project from a Greenfield site to handing over the keys. The present Managing Director is Henry Stanley who joined the company in 1990.
The Group consists of 2 main entities set up for specific business areas which are as follows:
- Stanley Macadam Road Surfacing Limited which holds the Tarmacadam Division and the Site Development Division. This is a Private Limited Company. Types of jobs include: driveways, school playgrounds, car parks, roads, sporting grounds and airport runways.
- Blackchurch Homes Limited which holds the Construction Division. This is also a Private Limited Company. Types of jobs include: housing estates and industrial units.

Today the Stanley Macadam Company employs over 100 fully trained staff i.e. Engineers, Fitters, First Aiders, Safety Officers, Machine drivers.
